PPC Executive (paid social) – Open

We’re on the lookout for a talented PPC Executive to join our paid social team at Platypus Digital.

In this role, you’ll be planning, optimising, and reporting on campaigns for our dedicated charity clients. If you have a knack for creating impactful paid social campaigns, expertise with Meta Ads and other paid social platforms, and a drive to make a positive difference, we’d love to hear from you.

This role also offers the unique opportunity to work pro bono for a cause close to your heart, giving you the chance to expand your skills while making a real impact.

We welcome applications from non-graduates – no degree is required.

We want to hear from you if you are:

  • Able to create paid social marketing campaigns via Meta Ads and other paid social platforms
  • Skilled in reporting using Google Analytics or Supermetrics
  • Someone who wants to make a positive difference in the world
  • Constantly improving your professional skills
  • Have worked on campaigns for a charity, as part of an agency, or as a freelancer

Location: We have a hybrid working set up with a coworking space in London Bridge. Most of the team mostly work from home and come in to work together and to meet clients a few times a month. We are not accepting remote only applications for this position.

Role type: Full-time, permanent

Salary: £37,180 to £41,180 (London) / £34,180 to £38,180 (plus up to £3,000 travel allowance if outside London). New starters begin at the start of the range and are eligible for a stage review within their level after six months.

What you will do

You’ll manage the day-to-day paid campaigns on Facebook and Instagram for our amazing charity clients. 

You’ll craft and execute innovative advertising strategies, plan and manage paid social activities, and create captivating campaign content. You’ll build precise audience segments on Meta Ads, set up and launch campaigns via Meta Ads Manager, and oversee daily budget allocations.

Imagine working on a campaign for Amnesty International UK that not only raises awareness but sparks conversations about human rights. You’ll tweak and optimise these campaigns using the latest tools, A/B testing, and audience insights, ensuring they hit the mark.

Partnering with organisations like Young Lives vs Cancer, you’ll work as part of a team that develops ads that tug at the heartstrings and inspire action, driving crucial donations to support young people with cancer. 

You’ll get the chance to plan and execute campaigns for charities like the Mental Health Foundation that reach hundreds of thousands of people in the UK. You’ll engage with audiences meaningfully, encouraging conversations that contribute to positive change in mental health awareness.

Collaborating with our analysts, you’ll ensure flawless UTM tracking and provide insightful reports that help our clients see the impact of their campaigns.

Campaign management – 70% of your time

  • Develop and implement advertising strategies for campaigns, aligning with client goals.
  • Plan and build audiences on Meta Ads, identifying target groups and setting up audience segments.
  • Create engaging content for campaigns, including text, images, and videos to capture audience attention.
  • Plan budget allocations and manage daily spends for Meta Ad campaigns, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Build and manage Meta Ads campaigns for clients, overseeing campaigns from start to finish.
  • Implement UTM tracking parameters and ensure accurate tracking with our developer.
  • Optimise campaigns using A/B testing and audience testing to improve performance.
  • Conduct channel reviews to ensure optimal performance for various projects.

 

Reporting – 30% of your time

  • Create real-time dashboards using Supermetrics and Google Analytics to keep clients informed.
  • Provide weekly updates to clients on tasks, optimisations, and campaign performance.
  • Develop detailed monthly insight reports on key metrics such as conversion rates, ROAS, and CPA.
  • Advise clients on actionable steps based on report insights.

 

Working with clients and the team – always a priority

  • Maintain strong relationships with client contacts to ensure satisfaction.
  • Communicate regularly with colleagues about project progress.
  • Identify new opportunities to improve and grow client campaigns and agency processes.
  • Collaborate openly with team members, especially during challenging situations.

Key skills and experience

Essential

  • Proficient understanding of Meta Ads and paid social campaign planning
  • Knowledge of tracking pixels, UTM parameters, and basic code implementation
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A genuine ambition to drive positive societal change

 

Nice to have but not essential

  • Experience in a digital campaigning or fundraising role within a charity
  • Experience in working within agencies
  • Individual or Agency certifications from Meta
  • Proficiency in using collaborative cloud-based tools, particularly Asana
  • Ability to interpret data sets and derive actionable insights
  • Familiarity with reporting tools like Supermetrics and Google Sheets
